  • Booklet containing the lyrics and concept pre-meditations behind each song, essential in following the story behind 'MCCCL'.

Intercession by Alexander: "In preperation for writing this concept album I read 'Digerdöden, pestvågor och ödeläggelse: ett perspektiv på senmedeltidens Sverige' (Janken Myrdal, 2003). Most historical references to the belief and symbolism of the first wave of Stoor Dödhin (black death of Sweden) come from studying this single source. The lyrics and backstory segments often leak into and rely on one another to build the full storyline, sampling the way the main characters dreams leak into his experience of the mortifyingly dark place and time that is Stoor Dödhin. Although there are several layers of subject to the concept behind 'MCCCL', it is most of all a celebration of victory in battles with mental illness, although all can never be won. In the same respect this work goes out to anyone who refuses to stop fighting those battles for themselves and/or loved one's."

lyrics

Choke on my breath
Shook and shocked awake
Son, repayment
I pay for my mistakes

For life, his blood, my debt
Asked to remunerate
Soul has now left
His was the star of death

Find him in his bed still sleeping
Bind him by the head, blindfolded
Cold blooded murder

Quick, bury my hands in the soft end of his throat
Sick, stasis restored
Choked, choked

No, please let him go, he's our firstborn son
So innocent, he'd never hurt anyone
Still he must die

We climbed up the walls of your paradise
But I slipped and he fell down from endless heights
Took the blame but I cannot pay with my life

One last dawn
Fallen star

Writhe in pain
Little black fingers
Driven insane
Realization
By his bed
Tar-marked footsteps
Blind death has enriched heaven
And ravaged the world
